We went on a walk with our friends, Cheryl & Vaughn. They live a few blocks from the Dennis-the-Menance house.

We celebrated Ryan’s birthday at Lozo’s Mexican restaurant in Chicago. Gary told the waitress it was Ryan’s birthday. The karaoke lady sang a birthday song to Ryan.

Nikki and Josh bought a beautiful new home in Chicago. We finally visited them at the end of August.

 

 

 

And while there we cataloged their stylish sinks.

 

Chata and Dolores went on their first flight this year to Chicago. They did well for the most part. Chata barked at the airplane hydraulics. Dolores tried to escape, of course.

We bought a bushel of baby cucumbers ($18) from Farmer’s Market. It didn’t look like much while we were shopping. Once I started washing the cucumbers and putting them in jars I realized how many there were. We had to make a run for more jars halfway through canning. We ended up with 22 quarts. Enough to carry us through 2012.
