We traveled to Southern Iowa for the annual Ferguson Family reunion in Tingley. The weather was warm, the food was filling and the company was great.
After the reunion we took a roadtrip down memory lane and drove around exploring Gary and Connie’s old stomping grounds.
We had a few people over for dinner and we made a maple cheesecake with roasted pears for dessert.

We bought an end of the season bushel of tomatoes. I canned, roasted, puréed and included tomatoes in everything we ate for the week.
Ryan took me along during one of his training “flights.” I sat in the “backseat” of the flight simulator. It was amazing how real it was! I always thought that when he was going to the simulator it was just a computer screen and a joystick.
We went for a sail on Lake Minnetonka. It was a beautiful evening.
We toured the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. It was absolutely beautiful.
It is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates and the 8th largest in the world. Up to 40,000 people can worship in the mosque at the same time!
After enjoying a yacht ride through the Persian Gulf and all the spectacular views of Dubai, we jumped in for a swim a float (the water is really salty!) in the Gulf.
Priya cooked up fish curry for us at 6 AM. It was perfect.
